Riley Sawyer is an attorney at Mid-Michigan Estate Planning Law. Her practice focuses on estate planning, probate, and property matters.

From drafting comprehensive estate plans to conducting in-depth legal research, Riley enjoys connecting with clients and helping them achieve their legal goals, no matter how complex the task. She is drawn to the human side of legal work—understanding people, their needs, and the systems that shape their lives.

Riley is admitted to the State Bar of Michigan and the Indiana Bar. She earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Michigan State University College of Law in 2025, attending on a full-tuition scholarship. While in law school, Riley earned Jurisprudence Awards for her work in the Housing Justice Clinic and a course on Housing Law and the Public Interest, reflecting her ongoing interest in issues of housing access and social equity.

In 2022, Riley graduated with high distinction from Indiana University Indianapolis (formerly IUPUI), earning bachelor’s degrees in Sociology with a concentration in Medical Sociology and Political Science, along with a minor in Legal Studies.

Outside of work, Riley enjoys taking walks and hikes with her dog, Cece, and exploring creative hobbies like baking sourdough, painting, and crocheting. She's also an avid reader, with a particular love for fantasy novels and stories with a “happily-ever-after” ending. On weekends, you can often find her trying out different coffee shops around the greater Lansing area—it’s her goal to taste-test them all!
