Lily Mears is a law clerk at Mid-Michigan Estate Planning Law. She is a third-year law student at Michigan State University College of Law. As a law clerk, Lily prides herself on empathetic yet direct engagement with clients and on focused legal research.
Lily’s passion for estate law began when a death in her family provided her with first-hand experience with administration of an estate. She saw how stressful the complicated post-death process was for her parents and resolved to build a career in the field to try and ease the stress for other families.
Lily holds a bachelor's degree in history and anthropology from the University of Alabama, where she studied on a full scholarship as a National Merit semifinalist and served as the chief copy editor for the Crimson Historical Review, a flagship historical publication for undergraduate scholars. She was a semifinalist in the 2015 National Spelling Bee.
Lily grew up in West Michigan on a family hobby farm. She currently lives in East Lansing with her fiancé and two beloved cats. Lily enjoys cross stitch, knitting, horror movies, and digital art. She holds a black belt in taekwondo.
